Two Random Items

Not to bump Jim's nice post, but I've had two things on my mind recently.

1) Veruca Salt was an awesome band.  I heard "Seether" randomly the other day, and hot damn that was a good song.  I am frantically searching for my Eight Arms to Hold You record*, but I fear that it was sold years ago for some paltry sum of money.

2) The new Scissor Sisters track, "I Don't Feel Like Dancing," is fantastic because they sound EXACTLY like the Bee Gees.  And the Bee Gees kick ass.  I also find it fun that the song is a paradox, as while the Sisters are insisting that they don't feel like dancing, they are making you want to.  And sometimes I am kind of Brandon Walsh when it comes to dancing, so this song is clever in its trickery.

*I am aware that "Seether" did not appear on Eight Arms; it is a track off of American Thighs, a CD I have never owned. I don't know if this warranted an asterik.

Scissor Sisters tend to scare off my more homophobic friends, but MAN was that last record sweet. Still need to check in on the new song-hopefully it's better than The Rapture's new single, which I like...not so much.

Veruca Salt apparently has a new single, according to Stereogum:
