The Working Title . . . of "Here We Go Again!"

"About-Face" by the Working Title is the album you're bound to feel that you've heard before thrice over already.  It's fourteen tracks from a band with a sharp looking album cover and a very coordinated set of instruments.  With a singer whose vocals rival those of Doves' Jimi Goodwin and a slew of upbeat songs that do little to make one take notice, these guys pretty much have it made for your local, slightly indie-infused rock radio station.  Go ahead and pick any song from the album, let's say "The Crash" or "Nothing Less Radiant," and it's guaranteed to be an instant hit for the young, tattered sweater legions.  Just catchy enough, just the right amount of build, all those proper elements put together to make it irresistable to even the embittered and crusty.  I think the lyrics might even be as emotional as the vocalist portrays them to be, but hey, I'm too busy listening to the perfect blending of sound to bother with levity!

This disc from the Working Title is a decently candied listen, and it'd be hard for anyone to deny it.  However, it's very apparent that these guys got their sound from someone else.  There's not much originality but there's plenty of indie blueprints lying around throughout the album that show the right way to get an audience without scaring them away.  For the Working Title, that's what you've got to do if you want insta-success!
